Accountant – Financial Services & Micro‑Lending

About the role

We are seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Accountant to join a fast‑paced financial services organisation specialising in micro‑lending. Based in Randburg, Johannesburg, you will manage the end‑to‑end financial processes of the micro‑lending business while ensuring strict compliance with NCR legislation and internal credit policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full financial management of the micro‑lending portfolio.
• Maintain and reconcile financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end reporting cycles.
• Monitor credit‑related financial processes and ensure policy compliance.
• Support operational finance functions and internal reporting.
• Prepare audit documentation and assist during audit engagements.

Required profile

• BCom degree (essential).
• 2–3 years post‑qualification experience in finance or accounting.
• Exposure to micro‑lending or financial services environment is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of NCR legislation and credit policies.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Ability to thrive in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced setting.
