Training Instructor – Sewing Skills

About the role

The Training Instructor will develop and deliver sewing skill programs for learners and machinists at our Durban facility. You will play a key part in upskilling operators, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring high‑quality production standards.

Key responsibilities

• Train and coach learners and machinists on specific sewing techniques.
• Report on all training activities and outcomes.
• Deliver online training sessions to enhance operator performance.
• Assess the capabilities of new employees and recommend development plans.
• Assist supervisors with line set‑ups as needed.
• Facilitate offline upskilling and multi‑skilling initiatives.
• Manage small sewing projects for external customers.
• Provide ad‑hoc training support for new production introductions or line changes.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on sewing experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Multi‑skilled across various sewing operations.
• Prior experience as a training instructor is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret patterns and communicate potential challenges.
• Assessor qualification is a strong advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
