Technician – Commercial Catering Equipment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technician to join our team in Cape Town’s Central Business District, focusing on the installation, service and maintenance of commercial cooking equipment for the hospitality sector.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and service a range of commercial ovens, combi ovens, convection ovens, gas and electric ranges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, gas and electrical performance issues on site.
• Perform calibration, performance testing and routine maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Provide professional client interaction, delivering clean and safe installations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience servicing commercial catering equipment.
• Background in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within the CBD.
• Gas installer qualification or demonstrable expertise with LPG and natural‑gas appliances.

Required skills

• Gas appliance fault diagnosis (LPG and natural‑gas principles).
• Mechanical systems maintenance.
• Electrical diagnostics on ovens and related appliances.
• Calibration and performance testing of cooking equipment.
