Tanker Driver – Heavy‑Duty Vehicle Operator

About the role

The Tanker Driver is responsible for safely operating ultra heavy‑duty vehicles to transport products along assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery without damage. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards and effective coordination with supervisors and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the tanker vehicle for each trip and operate it in compliance with all safety procedures.
• Load, transport, and off‑load goods, maintaining product integrity throughout the journey.
• Complete all required documentation and perform ancillary duties as needed.
• Follow supervisor instructions, company SOPs, and reporting procedures for emergencies, defects, or breakdowns.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of the vehicle, uniform, and personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Matriculation (Matric) qualification.
• Code 14 driver’s licence with Professional Driver Permit (PrDP).
• Minimum 24 months of driving experience, preferably 3‑5 years in a similar tanker or heavy‑duty vehicle role.
• Strong organisational understanding of FMCG logistics, business processes, and safety regulations.
