System Administrator – Site Owner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced System and Network Administrator to act as the site owner for GVW Group’s IT infrastructure in Cape Town, South Africa. The role provides hands‑on support for TRIZ Engineering, Aculocity South Africa and other GVW entities, ensuring reliable operation of servers, storage, networks and end‑user environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain on‑site servers, storage, networking equipment and power systems.
• Administer the local network, guaranteeing security, availability and performance.
• Monitor systems and networks, troubleshoot incidents and resolve issues promptly.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls through Active Directory.
• Perform routine backups and participate in disaster‑recovery testing.
• Support end‑user devices, including high‑performance CAD workstations, peripherals and mobile devices.
• Collaborate with the US‑based infrastructure team to align with global standards.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant technologies and assist in the rollout of new systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a System and Network Administrator in a demanding engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently on‑site while coordinating with remote teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on system reliability and performance.
