Statutory Accountant (SA)

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Statutory Accountant to join our team. In this role you will support the financial and tax departments across various European countries, taking part in audit processes and year‑end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review all statutory work within an allocated portfolio.
• Prepare monthly tasks such as VAT, Intrastat reports, payroll, balance‑sheet reconciliations and SOX binders.
• Analyse accounts each month to identify unusual transactions and recommend resolutions.
• Guide and mentor junior statutory accounting staff to meet client deadlines.
• Lead year‑end close activities, including US‑to‑local GAAP reconciliations and preparation of local GAAP financial statements.
• Act as the main contact for quarterly and year‑end audits, preparing PBC lists for auditors.
• Prepare global tax packs, corporate income‑tax (CIT) returns and coordinate with external consultants.
• Support ad‑hoc accounting, tax and finance projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 2‑3 years of experience in accounting and taxation.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organise large data sets.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel according to client and project needs.
