Software Engineer: Full Stack III

About the role

Capitec is expanding its Payments team and is looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure payment solutions that are used daily by customers. You will work across both backend and frontend layers, ensuring high‑quality, reliable services that enable money movement across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services that support payment processing and related functionality.
• Create and maintain frontend features that connect users and systems to payment capabilities.
• Build, secure, and scale APIs and services on AWS.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, testers, and product partners to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Take ownership of features from design through production support and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong experience building backend services using Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Java.
• Frontend development experience with Angular and/or React.
• Hands‑on experience operating systems on AWS.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and teamwork.
