Software Development Engineer, AWS Kumo Last-Mile

About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Kumo Last‑Mile team. The team builds the next‑generation IT support platform that powers internal Amazon employee assistance, leveraging cloud‑native services and machine‑learning‑driven automation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end services within a Service‑Oriented Architecture that integrates with the broader Amazon ecosystem.
• Implement features using Kotlin, Java, JavaScript and Ruby on Rails, and front‑end frameworks such as Angular and Bootstrap.
• Build and operate cloud components on AWS services including Route 53, Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, AppSync, KMS, Connect, Lex, Kendra, Redshift, QuickSight and DynamoDB.
• Apply machine‑learning models to predict user intent, personalize content, and automate issue resolution through chatbots.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver self‑service content and improve the overall employee support experience.

Required profile

• Software development experience building scalable, SOA‑based systems.
• Proficiency with a mix of open‑source and AWS native technologies.
• Ability to work on full‑stack solutions from back‑end services to front‑end interfaces.
