Service Technician – Appliances

About the role

The Service Technician will support the installation, servicing and maintenance of commercial catering and laundry equipment for hospitality, healthcare, retail food and institutional clients. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role working under senior technicians, with increasing responsibility as skills develop.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with installation of catering and laundry equipment on client sites
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Support fault‑finding and basic diagnostics on electrical, mechanical and gas equipment
• Assist with commissioning of new equipment
• Complete service reports and job cards accurately
• Maintain tools, equipment and service vehicles responsibly
• Communicate professionally with clients while on site
• Escalate technical issues or safety concerns promptly to senior technicians

Required profile

• Technical qualification or trade exposure in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, mechatronics or a related field
• 0–3 years’ experience in a technical or service role (junior candidates welcome)
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites
• Hands‑on, reliable, punctual and safety‑conscious

Required skills

• Installation of commercial ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, dishwashers, warewashing and refrigeration equipment
• Installation and servicing of professional laundry machines
• Fault‑finding and basic diagnostics on electrical, mechanical and gas appliances
• Commissioning of new equipment
• Performing routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Completing accurate service reports and job cards
• Maintaining tools, equipment and service vehicles
