Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead a large‑scale, complex initiative in Cape Town. The role will shape the project structure, governance and delivery approach, ensuring alignment between business and technology functions. This is a six‑month contract position driving execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the overall project structure, including governance forums, roles and responsibilities.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders, delivery teams and external vendors.
• Develop and maintain a consolidated project plan with clear milestones for each workstream.
• Track progress across all teams and provide consolidated reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Manage dependencies, risks and issues across business and technical teams.
• Oversee contracting and engagement with external service providers or vendors.
• Ensure alignment across business, technology, compliance and operations stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress and blockers.

Required profile

• Proven experience influencing C‑suite and senior executive stakeholders (CFOs, COOs, Board level).
• Ability to translate complex technical delivery into clear executive narratives, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable challenging and aligning executives with gravitas and diplomacy.
• Experience running programme steering committees and executive‑level governance forums.
• Strong command of integrated programme planning across multiple workstreams, squads, vendors and functions.
• Proficiency in building master delivery roadmaps covering 12‑24+ month horizons.
• Hands‑on experience with RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management.
