Senior Pharmacist – Amajuba District

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacist to lead the dispensary operations in the Amajuba district, based in Newcastle, South Africa. The role combines clinical pharmacy expertise with retail management, ensuring high‑quality patient care and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescriptions in line with SAPC guidelines and provide patient counselling.
• Manage stock ordering, receiving, inventory control, expiry management and cold‑chain compliance.
• Ensure adherence to Good Pharmacy Practice, SAPC, SAHPRA and Department of Health regulations and audits.
• Operate the Unisolv system for dispensing, claims submission and stock management, applying correct ICD‑10 codes for billing.
• Maintain complete patient and script records, quality control documents and CPD compliance.
• Support the Responsible Pharmacist, act as locum when required and supervise support staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council in good standing.
• 3‑5 years experience at senior pharmacist level, including at least 3 years in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Unisolv dispensing system.
• Working knowledge of ICD‑10 coding and medical‑aid claims submission.
