Senior Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator supports the Production department by monitoring CCTV cameras so that production processes comply with regulations and staff safety is maintained. The post is permanent, reports to the Divisional Director and works standard hours Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 17:00 and Friday 07:30 to 16:00; overtime is required as operations need.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and track all production processes
• Watch all CCTV cameras across production areas
• Check that staff follow company policies and procedures
• Monitor commodities
• Report daily to senior management and report irregular activities and issues to the relevant departments

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
• 2-5 years of practical experience in a control room or surveillance environment
• Proven track record of reviewing, auditing and extracting video footage for reports while keeping evidential integrity
• Understanding of production processes is beneficial

Required skills

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CCTV)
• Expert use of Video Management Systems and camera networks
• Ability to spot suspicious behaviour and operate PTZ cameras precisely
