Salon Operator – Hair Salon Support

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Salon Operator to join the Dis‑Chem Cornubia store team. You will support our hair stylists, ensure a welcoming environment for clients and learn to deliver the full range of Dis‑Chem hair‑dressing services.

Key responsibilities

• Greet clients, manage walk‑ins and respond to enquiries by phone or email.
• Provide magazines and refreshments to waiting clients.
• Assist clients with gowns, shampoo, rinse and conditioning before their haircut.
• Support stylists during all salon services, including product preparation and tool handling.
• Schedule bookings, maintain client records and keep the salon tidy and hygienic.
• Collect used cups, wash towels, sweep hair and sanitise tools according to Dis‑Chem policies.
• Adhere to health‑and‑safety rules, uniform standards and company SOPs.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Good command of English – reading, writing and speaking.
• Customer‑focused, patient and detail‑oriented.
• Trustworthy, honest and able to work flexible retail hours, including overtime on short notice.
• South African citizen, clear criminal and credit record, and a valid driver’s licence or reliable transport.
