Reservations Office Manager

About the role

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is seeking a Reservations Office Manager for its Conferencing and Accommodation (C&A) portfolio. Based in Pretoria, the manager will lead the CSIR ICC Reservations Office, driving sales performance, ensuring client satisfaction, and overseeing the smooth execution of events and accommodation services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and motivate CSIR ICC Event Coordinators to deliver excellent customer service.
• Establish, implement and maintain operating standards, processes and procedures for the Reservations Office.
• Ensure all contracts are signed and deposits received before events, and verify final invoices to minimise risk.
• Monitor sales against targets, implement corrective actions, and achieve annual revenue goals.
• Maximise venue occupancy and revenue while maintaining high client experience.
• Facilitate communication between Event Coordinators and operational departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Develop and promote value‑adding client products such as overnight accommodation and transport services.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of event coordinators.
• Experience establishing and maintaining operational standards in a reservations or hospitality setting.
• Strong focus on contract compliance and risk mitigation.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
