Research Nurse (2-year Fixed-term)

About the role

The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced Research Nurse to join its REACH Programme. This two‑year fixed‑term position supports the public‑sector rollout of long‑acting HIV prevention (lenacapavir) and generates real‑world evidence to guide provincial and national scale‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, client‑centred sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV prevention services, including oral PrEP and injectable lenacapavir.
• Deliver clinical services across facility‑based clinics, community platforms and mobile service points.
• Implement study procedures, manage participant enrolment and follow‑up, and ensure data quality.
• Offer operational support across multiple service platforms and rotate between sites as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve programme targets and maintain continuity of care.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse with experience in SRH or HIV prevention services.
• Demonstrated ability to work in both clinical and research environments.
• Willingness to travel across sub‑districts and adapt to mobile service delivery.
• Strong communication and client‑centred care skills.
