Remote Linux Engineer – US Hours

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer (Level 2/3) to join our Service Team. The position is fully remote and supports US‑based clients during US business hours. You will provide expert infrastructure support across a multi‑client environment, ensuring stability, security, and performance of mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform server patching, system updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain and tune Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux) for high availability.
• Support on‑premises and cloud workloads, primarily in Microsoft Azure and Oracle ecosystems.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and automation projects.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot OS, storage, networking, and application issues.
• Use ticketing systems (ServiceNow, ConnectWise, Jira) to track and resolve incidents.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction.
• 3+ years experience in a Level 2/3 Linux support role, preferably within a Managed Service Provider or enterprise environment.
• Experience working in ITIL‑based service environments.

• Linux administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux).
• Patch management tools (YUM, DNF, APT, Satellite).
• Scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Microsoft Azure IaaS (VM provisioning, networking, storage, monitoring).
• Oracle Linux and basic Oracle Database support.
• Virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancing).
• Ticketing systems (ServiceNow, ConnectWise, Jira).
