About the role
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with principal customers, ensuring account retention, and handling day‑to‑day operational queries. The role focuses on growing business within the principal channel by expanding services and maintaining profitable, strategic partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and obtain sign‑off on customer strategies aligned with group objectives.
- Set, monitor and review key performance indicators (KPIs) for each account.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic collaboration and service expansion.
- Manage internal functions to meet agreed KPIs and resolve customer queries promptly.
- Drive supply‑chain efficiencies by working cross‑functionally with the supply‑chain team and leading S&OP processes.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, rate reviews and profitability measures.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in account management or general administration, preferably within FMCG or related sectors.
