About the role
Discovery Corporate & Employee Benefits is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead and grow relationships with large employer schemes and broker partners. The role focuses on strategic account ownership, retention, and partnership development, positioning Discovery as a trusted advisor in employee benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of high‑value employer schemes and broker relationships in line with the account segmentation model.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans, including retention strategies, growth initiatives and engagement roadmaps.
- Oversee scheme risk, renewals, benefit enhancements and escalations, ensuring early issue identification and mitigation.
- Lead complex queries and escalations, coordinating with Client Relationship Partners, operational teams and specialist functions.
- Provide insight‑driven reporting, analysis and recommendations to brokers and employers.
- Facilitate quarterly and annual strategic reviews, workshops and executive‑level discussions.
- Drive cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across the Discovery CEB value proposition.
- Collaborate with Business Integration, Analytics, Actuarial, Technical Marketing and Operations to deliver integrated solutions.
- Coach and support junior account managers as needed.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing large, complex corporate accounts or employer benefit schemes.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with brokers and senior client stakeholders.
- Ability to develop strategic plans and drive growth initiatives.
- Excellent problem‑solving and escalation management capabilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.
