Junior Logistics Operator

About the role

Standerton Oil Mills is looking for a reliable, safety‑conscious Logistics Operator to support material movement across seed intake, warehouse, oil & meal loading and the weighbridge. The role is hands‑on, detail‑oriented and essential for safe, efficient plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate logistics equipment safely across seed intake, warehouse, oil & meal loading and weighbridge areas.
• Conduct pre‑use inspections, follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and wear required PPE.
• Weigh raw materials, finished products and dispatch loads, completing all related documentation accurately.
• Perform routine equipment checks, minor maintenance and report any faults or abnormalities.
• Support receiving, storing, loading and dispatching activities while maintaining stock records and FIFO rotation.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with computer literacy.
• 1‑2 years experience in logistics, warehousing or process operations, preferably in edible‑oil processing.
• Knowledge of logistical equipment, seed‑intake processes and weighing systems.
• Basic understanding of food‑safety compliance and plant quality requirements.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow SOPs and LOTO procedures.

Required skills

• Computer literacy for reporting and documentation.
• Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance.
• Heavy Vehicle Licence (advantageous).
