iOS Software Engineer (Intermediate / Senior)

About the role

Mr D, a fast‑growing division of the Takealot Group, is looking for talented Intermediate and Senior iOS Engineers to join its Cape Town team. You will work on a cutting‑edge mobile e‑commerce application, modernising legacy code and shaping the future of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, development and maintenance of the iOS application written in Swift.
• Modernise the legacy codebase and drive platform evolution.
• Write, test and publish code to the Apple App Store.
• Monitor performance, profile the app and ensure stability and security.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups and collaborate with creative, content and engineering teams.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of iOS development experience for intermediate level or 5‑8+ years for senior level.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent, or 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming fundamentals and ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Accountable, inventive and able to manage time and workload effectively.

• Google Maps, Firebase, Braze (nice to have)
• Android experience (nice to have)
