Hydraulic Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Engineer to join our Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) team. You will be responsible for hydraulic design, calculations and technical documentation for equipment serving oil, rig and renewable‑energy markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and calculate hydraulic systems and components in line with international standards.
• Prepare hydraulic flow diagrams, bills of material, test procedures and engineering reports.
• Contribute to the standardisation of hydraulic systems and drive improvements in quality, safety and environmental performance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, automation, electrical/instrumentation and structural disciplines.
• Follow NOV Quality Management System processes and procedures.
• Occasional travel to customer sites or other NOV facilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience designing hydraulic systems for heavy industrial, land or offshore oil‑field equipment.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic theory and ability to design hydraulic circuits.
• Familiarity with hydraulic components, suppliers and industry standards.
