Higher Education Lecturer – Hospitality

About the role

The International Hotel School Gqeberha Campus seeks a passionate Higher Education Lecturer to inspire and guide students pursuing careers in the hospitality industry. You will share industry knowledge, support student development, and contribute to their long‑term success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions in hospitality subjects.
• Develop, update and align curriculum and assessment materials with industry standards.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and feedback to enhance student performance.
• Maintain accurate records, grading and administrative duties related to course delivery.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to ensure relevance of program content.

Required profile

• NQF Level 8 hospitality qualification (essential).
• Registration with ETDP SETA as an Assessor (beneficial).
• Scope registration with CATHSSETA (beneficial).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant practical industry experience.
• At least 2 years of lecturing or teaching experience in higher education.

Required skills

• Proficiency in relevant computer software and strong administrative abilities.
• Solid understanding of curriculum design and assessment processes.
• Demonstrated track record of student throughput and pass rates.
