Fleet Planning and Performance Analyst

About the role

Icebolethu Group is looking for a strategic, data‑driven Fleet Planning and Performance Analyst to join its Fleet Centre team. In this role you will use analytics, telematics and financial insight to optimise vehicle utilisation, lower total cost of ownership and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop short‑ and long‑term fleet strategies, lifecycle replacement models and manage annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Monitor fleet KPIs such as utilisation, downtime, cost‑per‑km and fuel efficiency, maintain telematics dashboards and present analytics to executive management.
• Track total cost of ownership across vehicle categories, evaluate leasing versus ownership and implement cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Manage supplier service level agreements, negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor performance and lead procurement reviews.
• Ensure compliance with South African transport legislation, the Road Traffic Act, OHS standards, licensing and internal governance policies.
• Drive digital transformation, optimise telematics usage and lead continuous‑improvement projects to eliminate inefficiencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transport Management, Business Management or Engineering (post‑graduate qualification is an advantage).
• 5–8 years of experience in fleet management or transport operations, with at least 3 years focused on fleet planning, analytics or performance management.
• Proven track record managing medium‑to‑large commercial fleets, budgeting, TCO tracking and supplier contract management.

• Advanced MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Power BI for business intelligence dashboards and visualisation.
