Financial Controller

About the role

Join a dynamic finance team in Johannesburg as a Financial Controller, where you will combine rigorous financial control with commercial strategy to drive trading performance and margin management.

Key responsibilities

• Process stock‑related adjustments and journal entries, ensuring alignment between WMS and Pastel.
• Support monthly stock counts, audits, variance analysis and reconcile trial balance to inventory valuation.
• Manage liquor P&L reporting, maintain margin and rebate schedules, and calculate working capital requirements.
• Perform GP margin, P&L movement analysis and support credit control for outstanding claims.
• Prepare inputs for audits, annual budgeting and conduct monthly distribution centre financial reviews.
• Approve new product listings, price deviations and maintain master trading terms and supplier agreements.
• Provide daily pricing investigations, sales trend analysis and ensure compliance with supplier data reporting obligations.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree.
• 3‑4 years of experience in a similar financial controller or stock environment role.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls and compliance frameworks.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., Pastel).
