Educational Assistant – Support Literacy & Numeracy

About the role

Blue Hills Community School is seeking an Educational Assistant to join its team for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role focuses on delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions to support student achievement in line with the school’s divisional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement literacy and numeracy intervention sessions.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support to students identified for additional assistance.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards within the school community.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development to continuously improve instructional practices.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma.
• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work collaboratively.
• Interest in professional growth and learning.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Respect for student privacy and confidentiality.
