Data Analyst

About the role

OM Bank is looking for a Data Analyst in Johannesburg to support data-driven decision making across the business. The analyst analyses, interprets and reports on data from various sources, works closely with business stakeholders to understand their information needs, and produces insights and reporting solutions that improve customer outcomes, business performance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities, and turn findings into clear, actionable business insights.
• Develop, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and scorecards, presenting findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collect, clean, validate and prepare data, and help maintain data quality by spotting inconsistencies, gaps and anomalies.
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, translate them into reporting specifications, and support measurement frameworks and KPIs.
• Identify opportunities for operational and customer experience improvement, monitor performance metrics and highlight emerging trends.
• Follow data governance, privacy and security standards, and document reports, data sources and business definitions.
• Respond to reporting requests, build working relationships with internal stakeholders and share analytical findings and recommendations.
• Keep up to date with analytical tools, reporting platforms and banking products, and take part in training.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Finance or a related field; a Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
• Experience in the banking or financial services industry is advantageous.
