About the role

The Communications and Advocacy Lead will head the visibility, advocacy and digital marketing functions of the EU CSO Programme. Based in Cape Town, the role supports programme activities across KwaZulu‑Natal, Mpumalanga, Gauteng and Limpopo, ensuring that stories, results and calls to action reach the right audiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a communications, visibility and advocacy plan aligned with the programme calendar.
  • Identify and manage key communication moments such as assessments, trainings, incubations, town‑halls and capitalisation events.
  • Coordinate timelines with the Programme Manager and track all outputs for reporting.
  • Prepare and package awareness materials, support webinars, plan a 6‑week social‑media campaign and assist with podcast content.
  • Produce communication assets for physical workshops in each province and translate programme opportunities into accessible language for grassroots CSOs, women and youth.
  • Manage social‑media planning, copywriting, scheduling, email marketing, website updates and programme newsletters.
  • Liaise with graphic designers, web developers, printers, photographers and videographers as needed.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in communications, advocacy or digital marketing within development or NGO contexts.
  • Ability to craft clear, ethical content for diverse audiences and meet donor visibility requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder projects and managing timelines.
  • Strong written English skills and familiarity with grassroots CSO environments.
