Candidate Engineer – Water

About the role

Join AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team in South Africa as a Candidate Engineer focused on water and wastewater pipeline projects. You will contribute to high‑quality design deliverables while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers across global locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and BIM models for water and wastewater pipelines.
• Produce and review AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawings under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers to ensure continuity and accuracy of the design process.
• Participate in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Check and ensure the quality of BIM/CAD model production.
• Assist in client meetings to discuss requirements and present design solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA.
• 2–3 years of experience in water and wastewater pipeline design.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of BIM/CAD coordination and model production.
• Ability to use engineering software for calculations and problem solving.
