Advanced Operations Engineer – IT Operations Management

About the role

The Operations Engineer (Advanced) will drive the evolution of ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) solutions and support critical monitoring and event‑management processes for a multinational environment. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration, automation and continuous improvement of IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support migration, transformation and continuous enhancement of the inter‑company IT cost‑charging model in ServiceNow.
• Deepen integration of ServiceNow ITOM with Configuration and Service Management modules.
• Integrate monitoring solutions into ServiceNow ITOM and provide 2nd/3rd‑level support, focusing on Event Management and workflow automation.
• Gather and analyse requirements for new monitoring functions and translate them into technical specifications.
• Collaborate within the Agile Working Model (AWM) to deliver iterative improvements and respond to additional responsibilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing in Shell, Perl, JavaScript and a high‑level language such as Java.
• Proven experience with IT event‑management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow ITOM, BMC TrueSight).
• Strong understanding of ITIL v4 processes, especially Problem, Incident, Change and Event Management.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, networking concepts, databases, web technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and adapt to a fast‑paced, international environment.
