Hydrogeological Field Technician (Graduate) – On-site in Potchefstroom

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, detail‑oriented Hydrogeological Field Technician to join our team in Potchefstroom. This graduate‑level position supports groundwater investigations and monitoring programmes, working directly on‑site with borehole drilling, pump testing and water‑level measurements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of borehole drilling and log geological formations.
• Conduct aquifer tests such as step tests and constant‑rate pump tests.
• Measure groundwater levels and maintain monitoring equipment.
• Collect groundwater samples for laboratory analysis.
• Record, manage and report field data accurately.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety and quality standards.
• Maintain field equipment and vehicles.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Basic understanding of groundwater principles and field techniques.
• Willingness to work outdoors, travel to remote sites and relocate to Potchefstroom.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.

What we offer

• Salary range of R12 000 – R15 000 per month.
