Stock Controller

About the role

The company is a well‑established steel manufacturing operation in Rosslyn, seeking a hands‑on Stock Controller to support the Production/Factory Manager. This is a physically active, factory‑floor position where you will manage inventory, procurement and store supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular stock takes, maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels.
• Identify shortages or surpluses and implement procedures to minimise waste.
• Source and purchase raw materials, components and supplies, negotiating with suppliers for cost‑effective purchasing while maintaining quality.
• Track deliveries, ensure timely availability of stock for production and coordinate with the factory team.
• Work directly with factory workers to resolve material‑related issues and maintain a safe, organised environment.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and minimum 3 years’ stock‑control experience in a manufacturing/steel/warehouse setting.
• Experience with procurement processes and supplier follow‑ups.
• Strong computer literacy, especially Excel and inventory management systems.
• Physically fit, able to work in a hot industrial environment and use PPE.
• Own transportation is compulsory.
