Senior/Lead Technical Architect – Remote

About the role

Utopia is seeking a technically rigorous Senior/Lead Technical Architect to turn design intent into precise, buildable documentation for its boutique hospitality projects. Working remotely across Central European/UK time zones, you will act as the primary technical authority, bridging concept and construction from RIBA Stage 3 through Stage 5.

Key responsibilities

• Translate concept and schematic designs into coordinated Revit models and full documentation packages (RIBA Stages 3‑5).
• Develop detailed technical layouts, assemblies, and construction‑level details in Revit, ensuring constructability and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, and interior design inputs using BIM workflows and Navisworks, resolving cross‑discipline clashes.
• Lead the development of façade, roof, and other technical typologies based on material performance and construction logic.
• Own quality control of Revit models and documentation, conducting technical reviews and flagging risks.
• Build and manage project families, typologies, and detail libraries to support efficient design development and standardisation.
• Support tender and construction documentation, aligning with specifications, codes, and local regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in architectural design and construction documentation for hospitality or luxury projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, able to collaborate with design, engineering, and procurement teams remotely.
• Attention to detail, practical problem‑solving, and a proactive approach to risk identification.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for technical outcomes.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit (architecture) and Navisworks.
• Extensive experience with BIM workflows and coordination across disciplines.
• Knowledge of RIBA Stages 3‑5 and construction‑level detailing.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and hospitality‑specific design requirements.
• Experience creating and managing Revit families, typologies, and detail libraries.
