Scientific Director

About the role

The Scientific Director will lead multiple projects for diverse clients, acting as the medical expert for the teams they support. Based remotely in South Africa, they will collaborate with an established UK team to develop high‑quality medical and commercial content that aligns with strategic product positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic, scientifically accurate content for advisory boards, promotional slide decks, scripts, and other deliverables.
• Anticipate client scientific content needs and proactively ensure client satisfaction.
• Plan and execute project work with senior management, project, and account teams to provide appropriate scientific support.
• Produce high‑quality written materials tailored to target audiences.
• Manage revisions and reviewer feedback independently while maintaining timelines.
• Uphold scientific integrity throughout project implementation.

Required profile

• Doctoral‑level degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) in a relevant field preferred.
• Extensive experience in medical communications, medical education, pharmaceutical marketing, medical affairs, or related content production.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts.
• Familiarity with the ABPI Code of Practice and professional education processes.
• Ability to collaborate with account teams and external partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS365 applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
