Quality Monitor – Food Safety & Quality

About the role

RCL Foods is seeking a Quality Monitor to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality within its processing plant in Tzaneen. The role supports the company’s purpose of “We Grow What Matters” by overseeing supplier compliance, internal audits and corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate suppliers and report deviations.
• Provide food safety and quality training to staff.
• Schedule and conduct internal audits.
• Investigate customer complaints and manage corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain traceability and recall systems.
• Oversee pest management and water quality monitoring.
• Maintain hygiene standards and ensure scheduled microbiological and chemical testing.
• Update product specifications and conduct GMP inspections.
• Report out‑of‑specification issues to the Quality Assurance Team.
• Promote a strong QFS culture through toolbox talks and Gemba walks.
• Ensure data accuracy in the SHEQX system.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Food Technology or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in the FMCG sector.
• ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 certification is an advantage.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
