Territory Manager – Multi‑Site Fuel & Retail Operations

About the role

A leading national fuel and retail network is looking for an experienced Territory Manager to own a portfolio of service stations across a defined region in South Africa. The role combines strategic sales growth, profitability management and hands‑on operational execution while maintaining strong relationships with independent dealers and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of fuel service stations and dealer relationships across the territory.
• Drive sales growth, turnover and profitability for forecourt, convenience retail and QSR offerings.
• Ensure strict adherence to brand standards, operational policies and compliance requirements.
• Analyse site financial performance, including P&L, margins, costs and revenue drivers.
• Implement regional growth initiatives to improve market share and site performance.
• Oversee dealer billing, expense allocations and financial reconciliations.
• Monitor sales and stock performance, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Lead customer‑experience programmes such as NPS and mystery shopper initiatives.
• Conduct regular site visits, operational audits and night inspections.
• Coach, support and develop dealers and site management teams.
• Manage risk, compliance and audit outcomes across all sites.
• Support network expansion, new site development and transformation projects.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (relevant tertiary qualification advantageous).
• 2–5 years senior multi‑site management experience, preferably in fuel retail, FMCG or multi‑site retail.
• Proven financial acumen with experience managing P&L and profitability.
• Experience managing dealer or franchise relationships is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, compliance and customer service standards.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours.
