Senior IT Technician

About the role

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Cape Town, is seeking a motivated and energetic Senior IT Technician to provide high‑level technology support across the business. The role involves maintaining the stability, security and performance of the company’s IT infrastructure while delivering excellent service to end users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software and network tickets, ensuring a 48‑hour closure time.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Support enterprise‑level applications such as Power Apps, O365, Azure and the on‑site server environment.
• Conduct daily server health checks via RMM software and maintain server storage solutions and network devices.
• Manage security updates, patches, backups and respond to security incidents.
• Maintain PABX systems, including cordless and desk phones.
• Log and track all IT tickets, uphold a 98% SLA on critical incidents, and keep LAN/WAN documentation up to date.
• Assist with network planning, evaluate new hardware/software, and develop the Microsoft ecosystem both on‑premise and in the cloud.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Information Systems or a related IT field.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
• 4‑6 years of experience in a senior IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IT network infrastructures and desktop support.
