Production Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Operator will work on the Durban North site ensuring safe, efficient operation of production machinery and equipment. The role focuses on meeting customer specifications, maintaining quality standards, and achieving daily production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Apply the “STOP CALL WAIT” rule for abnormal conditions.
• Produce quality parts according to customer specifications and meet daily output goals.
• Inspect parts, identify defects, and isolate non‑conforming items.
• Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities.
• Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment faults to the Team Leader.
• Maintain housekeeping and uphold safety standards.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Preferably one year of experience in automotive or general manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong focus on meeting production and quality targets.
• Good communication skills and ability to read work instructions.

Required skills

• Experience with hand tools.
• Familiarity with safety standards.
