Pest Control Operator – Service Technician (Pinetown, KZN)

About the role

The Service Technician (Pest Control Operator) delivers high‑quality pest control services in Pinetown, KZN, following Rentokil’s standard operating procedures and safety guidelines. The role focuses on ensuring client satisfaction, building strong relationships, and supporting business growth through excellent service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pest control/management services in line with SOPs and SWPs.
• Meet productivity standards set by the company.
• Follow assigned route and service plans.
• Retain existing clients through service excellence and identify growth opportunities.
• Use service tracking tools and compile post‑service documentation.
• Advise clients on housekeeping, stacking and proofing requirements.
• Comply with legislation (Act 36 of 1947) and Rentokil Code of Conduct.
• Maintain and keep equipment and vehicle clean.
• Carry and apply pesticides according to label instructions and APL compliance.
• Follow stock control principles and protect company vehicle and image.
• Use correct personal protective equipment and meet health & safety requirements.

Required profile

• Service‑ and customer‑oriented attitude.
• Professional appearance and communication skills.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence with at least 2 years driving experience.
• Good time‑management, physical stamina and health.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Previous pest control experience.
• Fully qualified (NCPC) or PMA/PCSIB and registered with the Department of Agriculture (P‑Number).
• Knowledge of health & safety, HACCP and relevant legislation.
• Experience working at heights; fumigation qualification is advantageous.
