Junior Data Analyst – Graduate

About the role

Our client in Alberton is seeking a Junior Data Analyst – Graduate to support decision‑making across their wholesale and retail operations. You will collect, clean, analyse and visualise data on sales, stock, pricing and customer behaviour, helping the business optimise performance.

Key responsibilities

• Gather data from POS, ERP, CRM, inventory and finance systems.
• Clean, validate and prepare datasets for reporting.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly operational reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI or similar tools.
• Analyse sales trends, customer purchasing patterns and product performance.
• Assist in forecasting, demand planning and identifying revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with merchandising, supply‑chain, operations and finance teams.
• Support ad‑hoc analytical projects and business improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric or relevant NQF qualification; qualification in computer science or similar is preferred.
• Recent graduate with up to 1 year of experience in a similar role or internships.
• Exposure to wholesale or retail analytics and ERP/POS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Retail, SAGE).
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning).
• Basic knowledge of SQL for querying databases.
• Experience with data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Fundamental knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP/POS platforms like SAP, Oracle Retail or SAGE.
