Feedlot Manager – Large Scale Livestock Operation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Feedlot Manager to lead a large‑scale livestock operation in the Far East Gauteng/Mpumalanga area of Johannesburg. The role involves overseeing daily feedlot preparation, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining animal welfare and nutrition.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily preparation and operation of the feedlot.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety protocols.
• Manage feedlot staff, schedules and resources efficiently.
• Monitor animal welfare, nutrition and overall health.
• Implement and analyse data from livestock management systems.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree (BVSc, DVM or equivalent) – strongly preferred.
• 5‑6 years of experience in feedlot management or large‑scale livestock operations.
• Strong knowledge of cattle health, nutrition and feedlot systems.
• Experience with livestock management systems and data analysis.
