About the role
This position is part of a talent pool for a specialised Health Care Coach focusing on oncology patients. The coach will manage clinical risk by authorising appropriate treatments and coordinating outbound interventions, ensuring patients receive cost‑effective, high‑quality care.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with patients, providers and disease‑management companies.
- Answer queries related to oncology and other chronic disease programmes.
- Follow up decisions with providers and third‑party organisations.
- Monitor patient progress on disease‑management programmes and support early‑detection initiatives.
- Facilitate reporting, budget control and cost containment for health‑management programmes.
- Initiate outbound contacts, educate members on health benefits, and authorise cost‑effective medical care.
- Apply clinical guidelines, identify compliance risks and support registration on specialised programmes.
- Collaborate with specialists to assess clinical risks.
Required profile
- Matriculation (high school) qualification.
- Nursing diploma or degree.
- Minimum 4 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in oncology.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Experience in managed health‑care is advantageous.
