Software Developer – Cloud & IoT (Johannesburg/Cape Town)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Cloud Software Engineer to build cloud services and IoT integration capabilities for our Fixed Monitoring solutions. You will work on device connectivity, scalable APIs, data pipelines and automation within a global, product‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to an Agile team developing cloud‑native services.
• Design and implement modular backend components and AWS‑first micro‑services.
• Build and maintain data flows, infrastructure and automation pipelines.
• Develop capabilities that support cloud‑connected IoT devices and OEM integrations.
• Collaborate with product, QA and hardware teams to deliver high‑impact features.
• Participate in architectural and code reviews, ensuring reliability, observability and performance.
• Contribute to internal tooling and automation to increase engineering velocity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript/Node.js.
• Good understanding of cloud fundamentals, preferably AWS.
• Solid knowledge of computer networking, REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML and CSS.
