Senior Travel Consultant – Luxury Africa Safaris

About the role

Mahlatini Luxury Travel is seeking a Senior Travel Consultant to design and sell bespoke luxury safari experiences across Southern and Eastern Africa. You will combine deep regional knowledge with a passion for high‑end service to create unforgettable journeys for discerning clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and curate tailor‑made luxury safari itineraries throughout Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Convert warm leads through engaging phone, email and video consultations.
• Prepare polished, detail‑driven proposals that inspire confidence and close sales.
• Provide exceptional support before, during, and after travel.
• Maintain up‑to‑date destination expertise and stay ahead of product developments.
• Collaborate with internal teams and trade partners to uphold the company’s gold‑standard reputation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a travel consultant in tailor‑made, luxury travel.
• Proven ability to design and sell complex itineraries with a strong sales track record.
• First‑hand knowledge of Sub‑Saharan Africa destinations.
• Excellent written, spoken and video communication skills.
• Highly organised, tech‑savvy and able to manage multiple client relationships.

Required skills

• Experience with GDS/flight reservation systems.
