Senior Receptionist – Live‑in at Phinda Forest Lodge

About the role

The Senior Receptionist will be the face of Phinda Forest Lodge, ensuring seamless guest experiences while supporting the Front Office Manager. This permanent live‑in position requires a proactive, detail‑oriented professional who can manage daily front‑desk operations and uphold the lodge’s high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Relieve the Front Office Manager for two weeks per cycle and ensure all items are ready before the 8 am morning meeting.
• Process month‑end procedures, handle guest check‑ins and check‑outs, and maintain accurate guest billing.
• Communicate flight and transfer details, manage adventure bookings, and host guests at dinner according to the roster.
• Answer telephone calls and radios promptly, transfer calls, take messages, and ensure proper filing of staff, safari, and bar dockets.
• Process feedback forms, liaise with the reservations department, and maintain the PanStrat billing system.
• Maintain cash accountability, update lodge daysheets, and conduct detailed handovers with co‑workers.

Required profile

• Passionate about guest delight and able to generate new ideas.
• Thrives under pressure, energetic, proactive, and detail‑oriented.
• Strong interpersonal skills, self‑motivated, and willing to teach and inspire others.
• Valid South African driver’s licence and previous reception experience in the service industry.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the PanStrat billing system.
