Regional Sales Manager – KZN

About the role

We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead our sales and technical teams across the KwaZulu‑Natal region. Based in Johannesburg, you will drive profitable growth, strengthen customer relationships and execute our commercial strategy for BASF Coatings Services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to Sales and Technical teams.
• Execute regional business strategies aligned with overall corporate objectives.
• Manage and prioritize a customer portfolio to maximise growth and profitability.
• Achieve targets for sales, market share and gross margins.
• Identify new strategic customer opportunities and lead business development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers as the main point of contact.
• Monitor market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
• Develop and manage sales budgets, taking corrective actions when required.
• Collaborate with internal functions such as supply chain and credit management.
• Drive disciplined sales execution, reporting and performance tracking.

Required profile

• Completed tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or a related field (e.g., BCom, MBA).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, commercial or financial management roles.
• Proven track record in sales leadership and team management.
• Experience in automotive, coatings or manufacturing industries is preferred.
• Strong business acumen with ability to drive performance and profitability.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region.

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
