Quality Controller

About the role

The Quality Controller ensures that electronic components and assemblies meet stringent aerospace and defence standards through detailed microscope inspections and rigorous documentation. You will work across both manual and SMT assembly lines, supporting in‑process and final quality checks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microscope inspections of re‑processed components, sub‑assemblies and final products.
• Verify machine set‑ups and conduct first‑article inspections on the SMT line.
• Inspect incoming parts, outgoing deliveries and reject non‑conforming items according to IPC and ECSS standards.
• Maintain calibration and maintenance schedules for inspection equipment.
• Document inspection results, build histories, batch control and log non‑conformances in Syspro.
• Utilise Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment for sub‑assembly verification.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Valid IPC‑A‑610 and IPC‑J‑STD‑001 or ECSS certification (aerospace/defence experience preferred).
• More than 5 years of experience in electronic manufacturing, with at least 3‑4 years in quality control/inspection.
• Knowledge of workmanship standards, soldering, conformal coating and staking processes.
