Junior Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to join our fast‑paced manufacturing plant in Germiston. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with a variety of mechanical and electrical systems, providing a solid foundation for a career in industrial maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks on production equipment.
• Diagnose faults and respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections and routine servicing.
• Support the installation, commissioning and repair of machinery.
• Maintain high safety standards and keep the work area tidy.
• Collaborate with experienced maintenance engineers and technicians.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, technically minded and safety conscious.
• Eager to learn and develop technical skills.
• Reliable, able to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Electrical, mechanical and millwright fundamentals.
• Mechatronics background or qualification.
• Basic coding knowledge (advantageous).
