Junior Accountant

About the role

Kick‑start your accounting career with a dynamic and growing organisation based in Woodmead, Johannesburg. This junior position offers exposure to a broad range of accounting, bookkeeping and financial administration tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general accounting and bookkeeping duties, including cashbook processing and petty cash management.
• Process and reconcile non‑stock supplier invoices for local and international suppliers.
• Complete monthly bank and clearing account reconciliations.
• Reconcile business card transactions on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensure accurate VAT allocations and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with day‑to‑day financial administration and reporting requirements.
• Support internal controls, governance standards and IFRS compliance.
• Provide professional service and support to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Experience with reconciliations, supplier processing and cashbook management.
• Knowledge of VAT regulations and financial compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
