Facilities Supervisor

About the role

A well‑established organisation is seeking a proactive Facilities Supervisor to manage day‑to‑day operations of its Johannesburg site. The role involves overseeing building and grounds maintenance, coordinating central services and ensuring a safe, efficient workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee building and grounds maintenance to keep facilities operational.
• Supervise cleaning, groundskeeping and hospitality staff.
• Manage central services such as reception, security, waste disposal and stock control.
• Handle vendor management, including quotes, invoices and cost‑control initiatives.
• Monitor daily call‑logging systems and maintenance requests.
• Conduct daily and weekly inspections to maintain high standards and resolve issues proactively.
• Manage office resources including keys, equipment and refreshment stock.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain risk registers.
• Assist with space planning, staff events and ad‑hoc operational tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a facilities or supervisory role.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience managing staff and coordinating service providers.
• Relevant facilities, operations or business‑related qualification (advantageous).
