Accountant – Restaurant Finance

About the role

This full‑time accountant position supports a high‑volume restaurant within a diversified group. You will embed finance directly into daily operations, ensuring tight cost control, accurate reporting and compliance with group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with financial month‑end closures and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Analyse food cost %, labour cost % and overall profitability.
• Oversee stock control, conduct counts, reconciliations and investigate variances, wastage and shrinkage.
• Manage supplier relationships, verify invoices, reconcile payments and negotiate costs.
• Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations, aligning POS data with cash received and bank deposits.
• Drive cost‑management initiatives, identify inefficiencies and improve margins.
• Maintain financial administration, including creditors, debtors, record‑keeping and tax compliance.
• Partner with restaurant operations to provide financial insights for day‑to‑day decisions.
• Ensure strong internal controls over cash handling, stock management and operational processes.
• Support system integrity across POS, stock and accounting systems and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Finance‑related degree.
• Experience in full‑cycle accounting within the hospitality sector (non‑negotiable).
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
